Mindset &
Leadership Coach
Since working with Vinny, my mental state and thought process have drastically changed. Through working with him, I've realized that you can control much more of your emotions and how you view situations than I once thought. The best example for me is the duality of sports. Before working with Vinny, I struggled to understand why I felt the way I did during games. Through Vinny's exercises, I learned that you can control how you feel and how you respond to situations.
It's been awesome working with Coach Vinny for this past season. He helps tremendously with realizing and becoming aware of your process and what you specifically need to do to become the best version of yourself, both on and off the ice. He really makes you more aware and cognizant of the decisions you make, along with how compounding those decisions over time raises your bar and standard. I'm extremely appreciative of the work we put in together and will continue to dial in on what we've built.
Vince Malts has worked with every level of athlete from youth to the NHL. His concepts have value far beyond the rink. I have known Vince for over 20 years. He is fair, honest and trustworthy. His experience and ability to guide decision-making provide a mindset crucial for success on and off the ice.
For the first time in my career, I realized the next level for me wasn't physical - it was mental. The hardest part is trusting work you can't measure, but Coach Vinny helped me break through that ceiling. I may not be able to put a number on it, but I can feel it. I played the entire season healthy, didn't miss a single day, and felt sharp every game - I've never had that in my career.
I originally worked with Coach Vinny because he was one of my first coaches in hockey - he taught me the game when I was young. Working with him, he helped elevate my game to the next level. We've worked a lot on consistency and finding my game every night - and the biggest change for me has been knowing how to produce with my team even on the nights I don't have it, by sticking to my strengths. I've got an immense amount of respect for what Coach Vinny has done for my game.
I chose to work with Coach Vinny because I knew I needed to bring my game to the next level, and I knew he was the one who could help me most with the mental side. From the moment I met him, he's been the most genuine, caring, professional guy in the business. He's been with me through my highest highs and my lowest lows. People of all ages should work with him - he's the best guy in the business.
Working with Coach Vinny has been a huge piece of my career - he's helped me manage and organize my thoughts in a way that makes sense for me, which simplifies everything within the game. A lot of the tools we work on also carry over to relationships outside of hockey. He's helped me simplify my process so I can repeat it consistently at a high level.
Coach Vinny helped me build a mindset process that's actually mine. By the end of the season, I had my own answers in big moments and I trusted how I was thinking the game for myself. That's the biggest thing I've taken away - seeing that skill develop in real time has been pretty cool."
Coach Vinny provides a valuable perspective beyond parental insights, helping competitive hockey players translate ideas into actional steps, on and off the ice. He listens and guides the problem-solving process so kids and adults alike get a real sense of accomplishment after every interaction.
Having Vinny as a collaborator has been the single biggest advantage for my training program. He creates a pathway for athletes to become fully in tune with their own development process. The confidence my players and I have found working with him is invaluable.
Working with Vinny over the last 2–3 years has been one of the most important parts of my development as a player and a person. From junior to college hockey and now preparing for professional hockey, the work we've done together has helped me tremendously.
